Originally published in 1971, The Dead Are Awake and Walking is the very first professional comics work by Dave Gibbons. A story of creeping dread, of the uncanny and of betrayal, it heralded the debut of a major comics talent.

Newly scanned from the best available pages from multiple copies of the original comic, with a new introduction by Gibbons himself, and an essay on the Pocket Chiller Library comics by Dark and Golden’s Douglas Noble.

Dave Gibbons is a true comics legend. Titles that he has worked on include Harlem Heroes, Doctor Who, Rogue Trooper, Watchmen, Give Me Liberty and The Originals. His autobiography, Confabulation, was published in 2022 by Dark Horse Comics.
